Jeff Bezos has become the richest person on the earth, by surpassing Bill Gates in the year 2018.
Jeff Bezos founder of Amazon has a net worth of $130 billion(nov 2018). Apart from founding Amazon, Bezos also owns The Washington post and Blue Origin. Blue origin an aerospace company.
Let’s get into his daily routine to see how he made into No.1.
Jeff makes sure to get enough sleep, he actually prefers to sleep for 8 hours. So that he wakes early.”I go to bed early, I get up early,” Bezos said at the event. Every morning he wakes up naturally without the need for an alarm clock. He starts his day with a coffee and newspaper which is then followed up by a healthy breakfast with his wife, novelist MacKenzie Bezos.
“I like to putter in the mornings,” he said.
“I like to read the newspaper, I like to have coffee, I like to have breakfast with my kids before they go to school,” Bezos explained. “My puttering time is very important to me.”
In term of food, Bezos has a taste for unusual dishes. during a meeting with woot founder Matt Rutledge, he ordered octopus with potatoes, bacon, green garlic yogurt, and eggs for breakfast.” when I look at the menu, you’re the thing I don’t understand, the thing I’ve never had”, Bezos said.”I must have the breakfast Octopus.”
In order to spend his morning time with his family, he never schedules early morning meetings. He schedules his meetings, somewhere in between morning and noon as he believes that it is the best time to take the right decisions for him.
The first meetings of the day are the ones that require the most brain power.
“I like to do my high IQ meetings before lunch, like anything that’s going to be really mentally challenging, that’s a 10:00 a.m. meeting,” he told the Economic Club of Washington, DC.
Bezos usually avoids meetings in general. He also only allows 6 hours annually of meeting with Amazon’s investors.
When he does call a meeting, Bezos applies “two pizza rule”- a meeting where only two pizzas would feed the entire group, if not organized that way then it’s a big no.
Bezos even made a surprise cameo in the 2016 film “Star Trek Beyond”.
At work, Bezos used to be an occasionally a rude boss. but there are rumors that Bezos even hired an executive coach to tone himself down after acknowledging it. He is too hard to convince or impress and has stats on his fingertips all the time. For him, it is all about business and he doesn’t like to give a lot of benefits to the employees at work.
He seems to get enough rest and give them self a break during the day. And being productive throughout the day.
